This renovation and extension project transformed a semi-detached holiday home in Kingsdown, Kent, into a modern retreat by the sea. The design reconfigured the ground floor to create an open-plan living, kitchen and dining space that connects seamlessly with the outdoors. A new extra-large bi-folding door opens directly onto the re-landscaped garden, allowing natural light to flood the interior and creating a strong link between indoor and outdoor living.
Our architectural services covered RIBA Stages 0-4, from initial feasibility and concept design through to developed design and technical drawings for Building Control approval. We also liaised closely with the client and contractor throughout the process, ensuring smooth communication and successful delivery on site.
The extension and refurbishment gave new life to a dated property, creating a bright and spacious holiday home that balances comfort, functionality and contemporary coastal style. With its open-plan layout, improved flow and reimagined garden connection, the property now provides the perfect setting for relaxed family living and seaside getaways.
