A sustainable loft conversion in Canterbury
This sustainable loft conversion in Canterbury showcases our expertise in creating contemporary, light-filled spaces that make the most of every inch of the home. Characterised by its innovative use of birch plywood interior cladding, the project was driven by sustainable materials and natural finishes. The natural grain and texture of the birch bring warmth and character to the space, while cleverly integrated storage was expertly detailed and built by the finishing woodworker.
The design prioritised spatial efficiency, maximising the footprint of the Canterbury property while maintaining an airy and open ambiance. Strategically positioned skylights and large rear-facing windows overlooking the garden flood the interior with natural light, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere throughout the day.
As part of our full architectural service in Canterbury, we delivered a complete RIBA Stages 0–7 package, including the measured building survey, concept design, developed design, planning application and coordination, Building Control full plans approval, tender documentation and contractor interviews, as well as regular site visits and liaison with the wider project team through to completion. Our comprehensive approach ensured the loft conversion was designed, approved and delivered smoothly from first sketch through to handover, resulting in a modern, sustainable upgrade that adds both value and long-term comfort to this Canterbury home.
