The revival of this 1885 seafront townhouse in Broadstairs carefully balanced the preservation of Victorian heritage with the introduction of contemporary materials and modern design motifs. Period details were reinstated and celebrated, while a fresh architectural language of vertical and horizontal lines was introduced, creating rhythm and coherence throughout the home.
Newly reinstated doors and sash windows were positioned to frame dramatic coastal views, while natural light was maximised and carried deep into the interiors. This brightness was enhanced with light tiling, polished brass door furniture, and white ash varnished floorboards, creating a refined palette that feels both timeless and modern. The result is a seamless transition between the building’s Victorian character and the comforts of contemporary coastal living, transforming this historic seafront townhouse into a unique and highly liveable family home.
