Victorian Seaside Renovation
Client:
Private
Year:
The revival of this 1885 seafront townhouse preserved period details, whilst introducing contemporary materials and design motifs. A language of vertical and horizontal lines runs throughout, lending a sense of rhythm and coherence to the architecture.
Reinstated doors and windows frame coastal views, inviting natural light to flood the interior spaces which is further spread through light tiling, polished brass door furniture, and white ash varnished floor boards. A seamless transition is created between the Victorian heritage of the building with the comforts of contemporary living.
